Spring marks the beginning of wedding season and is among the most popular times of the year for weddings. The weather is warm, but not too hot and flowers and trees are in bloom. After a long winter, everyone is in good spirits and ready to celebrate!
Every year, Pantone releases its list of colour trends for the coming year. For 2012, the colour palate is very diverse, and includes everything from pastels to neons. Tangerine and corals are very popular colour choices for 2012. We’re also seeing a lot of wedding dresses with colour this year, and the splash of colour makes an interesting contrast to traditional white.
When it comes to décor for a spring wedding, it’s a nice idea to incorporate some green into your décor, such as leaf green. This brings a seasonal feel to the wedding décor and represents the rebirth of nature. Robin’s egg blue is also a popular spring wedding colour choice. Contrast these colours with a bright pink or chocolate brown and you have a classic spring colour palette. Contrasting colours, such as purple and yellow, also make a strong statement for a spring wedding. For a more formal spring wedding, white and ivory are also great colour choices.
For centerpieces, a combination of beautiful seasonal flowers such as peonies, branches, or other seasonal accents will give your wedding a touch of spring elegance.
However, your wedding should reflect your personal style and the colour and theme are a personal choice. I always advise brides not to pay too much attention to the trends and to choose styles and colours they like and that speakes to their individual tastes.
